Each year, the New Britain Civic Association awards a scholarship to a local graduating high school senior. The scholarship was created in memory of longtime New Britain Civic Association board member, Michael Havener.
The $500 scholarship is open to graduating seniors who are home-schooled or attend one of the following area high schools: Central Bucks West, Central Bucks East, Central Bucks South, Arch-Bishop Wood or Lansdale Catholic. The scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis.
The New Britain Civic Association is proud to announce the 2017 winner of the Michael C. Havener Scholarship Award is Shayna Cohen from Central Bucks South. We wish Shayna and all of our applicants great success in their future endeavors. It is very encouraging to see so many young people involved in their communities.
Applications for 2019 may be filed from Maech 1, 2019 through April 19, 2019. The recipient of the scholarship will be announced no later than May 17, 2019.
We are proud to announce that the 2018 recipient of the Michael Havener Scholarship is Kate Bensing, a graduate of Central Bucks West.
Eligibility:.
1. Graduating senior in 2019
2. Minimum GPA of 2.5 out of 4.0 scale
3. Scholarship will be awarded based on civic involvement within the Central Bucks community
